Deer Fence

A couple of weeks ago my veggie garden was decimated by deer.  Well Eric and I are waging war (since you can't fire a gun in city limits).  Today in 85+ degree heat we built a 7 ft deer fence out of old fishing nets and poles we got at lowe's...screw you deer...get over that!

I also built a trellis out of bamboo for my peas.
My veggies are starting to grow ow so big!

Shelves!

I got a set of shelves from the Restore.  I believe it is made from re-purposed shutters or closet doors.
I didn't like the color so I painted it to match our bedroom furniture.

Things around Love/Kraayenbrink Compound

A couple of things that have been happening at the Love/Kraayenbrink Compound.  I made a raised veggie bed.  I know it looks lopsided but I got the cinder blocks for free off craigslist.

I have also planted a potato barrel.  I took an old laundry hamper and filled with old spent potatoes.  Filled a lil bit with dirt and as the plants grow I fill with more dirt and hopefully at the end of summer I will have a hamper full of potatoes.

I have also constructed a raised flower bed by the car port.  I think it adds some character!
I also got some cheap concrete border off craigslist and added some beds and character all around.

I also have some unexpected daisies growing...Grandma Anderson's favorite flowers.  I remember she loved daisies and I loved dandelions.

Eric and I decided to build a fire pit for something fun!

I finally hung up the hammock we got in Hawaii!!!!

The plumera cutting we got in Hawaii is leafing out.

Tulip Festival

Ok...I am a little behind on blogging.
On April 21st Eric and I met our good friends Charles, Jess, and their kids Thomas and William at the Skagit Valley Tulip festival.  I heard a rumor that Skagit Valley sells the most tulips next to Holland.
